Playology statement of risk

All aspects of our life involves risk; and children want and need risk

as they play, learn and develop.

At Playology, we aim to provide children with opportunities to encounter acceptable risks, and more importantly equip them to successfully deal with and handle these experiences; keeping them - not as safe as possible - but as safe as necessary.

Through their time at Playology, children are exposed to risks posed that are carefully balanced against benefits reaped, in an inspiring, challenging yet controlled environment.

At Playology, risks are identified, assessed and considered to be acceptable or not based on three main factors:

What is the likelihood of harm?

What is the severity of that harm?

What are the rewards, benefits or outcomes of the activity involving the risk?

Ultimately, at Playology, our aim is to allow children to be little and brave - and we understand that achieving mastery involves a little risk.
